Welding Crack Headers
Ok, so my driver side long tube headers (HOOKERS) is crack some where inside the collector pipe where all 4 pipes come together.
I try "blindly" put some glue to seal crack on the exhaust put tryied it twice and the seal will last only until it gets hot and start to leak....YEA ITS FUNNY
bottom line, that thing does not work.
Would it be wise to take them out and weld them outside? or just get new ones?
Or maybe I can have the shop cut right after the collector weld and weld from the inside the pipes and then re-seal!?

You tried to glue a crack together... on your headers. Yeah... That is pretty funny.
Just take it to an exhaust shop and they'll fix it no problem.
I don't think you should put a cutout right after each the collector on both sides. I think you'll lose too much heat and thus pressure and thus velocity. You want one cutout in the I-pipe. I have a QTP dual cutout Y-pipe and I'd rather just have one of the stupid things in the I-pipe.

I would pull the leaky one pulled out of the car and have someone weld it up for you then throw it back on

to save yourself some money pull the header yourself and bring it to an exhaust shop, it shouldn't cost much to have it welded and maybe while there at it have them reinforce the other welds so this don't happen again.

where on the header is it leaking? if it is where they can get to it then no need for you to take it out... not that anyone didnt think of this before im just throwing that out there...
