For what business? Pleasure? I catch the HF one on sale for 2.99 and it works like a charm. I have several and they have different leads attached to each one so I grab the one I need based on what Im working on.

Sears has one thats less then $30 that even comes with a temp probe, they put it on half price sale, so watrch the father day sales. This enough meter for most car applications. I also have two flukes, they might be better for some electronic applications, like reading true RMS, but they're far from needed working on a car

For general use any digital meter will work as well as any other.The thing that sucks on the cheaper ones are the leads.I have cheap H/F up to a Fluke and I like the different tips and clips you can use on the better meters.Also look into getting an analog or swing meter because when chasing wiring I get tired of watching digital numbers jumping all over the place.
