I have a Borla exhaust I'd like to separate cleanly at the intermediate pipe but it's on so damn tight on my LPP Y that I don't have a way to get it off without cutting it apart. I'd like to slide it off if possible so that I can sell the exhaust complete. Is there anything similar that anyone has run across? I'd hate to drop $60 for this, wouldn't be worth it for one time use.
At the exhaust shop I had them heat it up and try to twist it off, but it was a no go.

if you really want it off in one piece I've had the best luck using a cutting wheel and cutting 2-3 slits lengthwise on the pipe where it overlaps so it can easily expand when you pull.
I haven't tried that setup but I would imagine that the only problem that it would have is that the bolts aren't captured (they're just pushing against the second flange) which will probably bend them and ruin the tool if you get a really tight one.
did you take a careful look at your exhaust and make sure that the original installer didn't put a tack weld to hold it in place? A lot of better installers will bolt it all together, line it up perfectly, and then put a tack weld at all the joints so it can't move from vibration, the factory exhaust has the same thing done at the muffler joint.

I want to change the exhaust and think it will be easier to sell this to someone with that dang pipe intact. It's got a little bend in it for adjustment and it's 2 3/4 ->3" so not an off the shelf piece that I can pick up for cheap.
