Default going rate on metal buildings?

I swear im sooo tired of trying to get prices from these steel building companys!!!!

anybody in the industry got an idea of what a 50x100x 16 will run money wise?

every single building company I talk to is always like, well I have something a little smaller than what your looking for... then I hang up the phone. I want a price on what I want a price on

When I was in the market for one and looking around, I found that Menards had a little computer estimating center that did a quick estimate.

Call Mueller metal buildings. they even have a video showing you how to assemble their pre-engineered buildings. Google them.

Check Kirby Metal buildings. your dimensions are rather small, but doable.

My father is actually a project estimator, I'll ask him tomorrow abouts what it would cost. Do you want the siding/insulation/Roofing etc included as well?

EDIT

My father said around $5500.

Estimates are difficult to get without the exact specifications of the accessories of a building and building code specifications. Based on your profile location of Mississippi I did a search and found a company offering a special in Mississippi on 50 x 100 x 16 clearspan pre-engineered buildings with a 1:12 pitch roof for $32,201.00. This building meets Mississippi building codes and is customizable with panel color and accessories. Keep in mind this is a base estimate; large customizations could change this price. Unfortunately spending time speaking to a sales associate and going through the details is the only way to get an exact price.

Hey The Guy, if you find a good place, please let me know. I'm looking for one too, but a little smaller. I'm thinking about either a 30X70 or 40X60 with 12' walls.

Are these the building the deliver and you put up yourself? Not trying to highjack. I have often thought of this myself and would like to learn more about it.

Steel is stupid expensive now-a-days.

I had my 24x40 and a 14' awning on one end, garage doors on both ends, pass door, lofts, trunion for an overhead crane ... custom fabbed for under $7K 10 years ago.

Spent 2K on electrical, openers coax, cat5 ...

And 6K on concrete ... 18" beams along the edge and crossing in the middle, 160' of 12' driveway and 60' of sidewalk connecting it to the house.

When I had my home appraised a couple years ago, I was told that same building would run close to $50K today, tun-key. :dunno:

But the 15K in 2000 yielded $25K on the appraisal in 2010.

I had forgotten about this thread. I've got a couple of local companies getting quotes for me, I haven't heard anything, being I just decided to try to go local really. I did speak w/ one fella today about a 50x100x16 w/ a 2:12 pitch 5 framed openings I think they were 12x12s and 5 walk in doors for $27,000 but no insulation on that one.

I'm hoping to stay under my budget of $100K... yes this will be financed but I really dont want to spend any more than that. Which shouldnt be a problem if I can do most of the apartment side myself, which shouldnt be a problem.

One of the guys I'm dealing with will be quoting me a lock and key job on the building alone, all I need to do is get the dirt work done and make sure the ground is level.... I'm hoping he can come in around 50,000-60,000ish... I should know something by tomorrow or wednesday

http://www.muellerinc.com/building/prefab_kits.php

I'm going to recommend Mueller as well. That's where I got mine from and it's very good quality with pricing that's hard to beat. They don't have a 50'x100' pre-fab listed in the above link but you can see by the prices of the buildings shown that the prices are quite good.

A couple things I learned when having mine put up ...

The R panel is what makes them rigid. The same way plywood makes a wall rigid. So it is is absolutely imperative that you begin plumb and square. There is no "fudging" to bring it back.

Use American made self-tapping screws. They pilot a lot easier and rarely will you snap off a head.
