Default "ghost" flames idea question

Thinking about doing a flame job on my 95 Z-28. Its a charcoal color. Was thinking about painting the bc then taping off flames and spraying clear mixed with some either pearl or heavy metallic to give the effect. Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks

a flame job is always a gamble, it may or may not come out right, but the most important thing is if you can live with it and like it. Some hate flames, some like them..

I did something similiar to your idea on my 2011, The flames are a cherry candy with pearl and lots of flake which doesn't quite show up in my image, the flames are also shadowed...When the sun hits them at a certian angle the pop off of the car..

I've had several vehicles with flame paint schemes, I believe one of the most important things to consider about flames is the shape or style of the flames and how they flow along the body. I've seen some great paint work but the flames looked like they were drawn by a first grade kid.

BTW, LittleMT, your flames look great!!

That is a sweet flame job! Thats exactly what I am going for. I am painting the car sterling grey metallic. Its similar to a gunmetal. What flake, shadowing should I use?

Now thats how ghost flames should look.

I don't like flames, but if I were to get them...thats how they'd look

on my car, my buddy taped them out and then dusted the pearl in, mostly just on the edges with a mini spray gun. harqualine changes about 3 or 4 different colors depending on the lighting.
