Scratch-proof Tire Iron/Lug socket???
Does anyone know where to find a coated or scratch proof tire iron or lug socket(teflon coated maybe?)? I do not want to risk chipping the paint on my new set of powdercoated wheels.

Try Snap-on or Matco, they might have something or try a chome 6 point socket(what every size the lug nut is) and wrap dust tape around the outside a couple of times.Works for us in our shop.

I have a set of Snap on sockets for lug nuts that are coated and then have anodizing on the ends to be indentified and they dont and will not scratch, i have taken off many wheels at my shop and i purposely tried to scratch an extra set i had, and they wont. as for the breaker bar - tire iron, what is it doing that close to the tire/rim??? get an impact. it doesnt take much to loosen lug nuts. but i know there is a can of rubberizer out there that is like paint. you just dip the tool in it, and then it dries like rubber. give that a try, that wont scratch.
good luck

I just bought a scrathless set of wheel sockets from www.Harborfreight.com. They are color coded....cool right?
They were like $20 for the three most popular metric sizes sockets... they have another set with seven SAE sizes for $65...
