Default truing bars???

those of you that have fabbed up a rear end, did you buy a truing bar or did you fab it up? if bought where and how much $$ did you spend? and if you fabbed it do you have any good links i could read through to try and understand how these things work and look. I've honestly only heard of them and never seen one, and everytime i google all it shows me is truing bike wheels. me and a buddy have been talking about 8.8 swapping my car, he has plenty of fab skills so honestly besides material the only other thing i need is the truing bar.

Jegs sells this one for 9" housings

This one is for multiple housings

This guy on racing junk makes them with adaptors for various housings and he uses a hollow bar so it's easier to handle. It's the cheapest set I've found and he says he's built a lot of axles with the same set
