Depends what you need them for and how long you plan on owning the car. (Dealer manuals are specific to a given model year) It takes a little while to figure out exactly where everything is, but they have just about all the info you could ever need. I've actually found incorrect information in chiltons before (torque specs), so if you are going for the cheaper manuals I'd go with haynes. If you want the dealer manuals, they are about a hundred bucks and you can get them from Helms.
Helm manuals are far more complete. Not that the
Haynes / Chitlins aren't useful; certainly more
portable. But they try to cover too many years
in one little book and don't have the depth. On
the plus side they often show you "shade tree"
tools / methods where the Helm manuals tend to
tell you to use GM Tool 269-0069 and installation
is the opposite of removal.
So like many tool choices, the right one is "all of
the above"
