Not so much a tool, as a way to use the shop better. When I don't need a car on the lift, I span the legs of the lift with a worktop. I store it flat against the front wall. It's also handy for getting heavy things off of the floor.

And if the project runs too long, I can just lift it up and park underneath

Flexplate locking tool.

Valve spring compressor.
I also have a set of these I built. The locking tool was part of an old flexplate. Valve spring tool is a knock off of the "Tim's tool" built from scrap 1/4" plate and M8 threaded rod

Also made a balancer tool from threaded rod, a section of pipe and some washers

My 8.8 axle jig is some scrap tubing/angle

I might do the cherry picker mod too, although the wheels havent given me much hassle. I did build a lifting chain with plates on the ends instead of hooks

And EVERYBODY needs a shop clock. I did these while I was rehabbing from a stroke about 4 years ago....

A belt drive gear left over from a custom chopper my son built....

A simple decal applied to a backer board....

More of the same. You can make a clock out of ANYTHING...

This one hangs in our shop over the tire machine....

This big ***** is the one that started it all. I picked the rim up cheap as a one of on eBay, and the tire came from a friend's '55 Chevy Pro Street. He was working with a torch under the car and accidentally passed it across the back of the tire putting a blister on it....

I bought a 40lb Harbor Freight media blaster to use for Soda and found out although it worked fairly well, you don't use nearly as much Soda as you would sand or walnut shells. I converted it back to media for walnuts and bought this little 10lb unit to set up for Soda. Only problem is that it comes with three really small legs. Rural King sells these handy little hand trucks for $10. It isn't made to carry much of a load but it works perfect for this.

Well, we found another use for the rotisserie we built for my wife's pickup cab.

Now that we don't need it anymore, we cut it down to build a chassis jig for my son Joe's dragster. He needs to back half the car so we needed something to tie it down to.

Added some length and cross members.

And the car fits perfectly.

Used the stock K member as a dolly for the car. Rolled it on and off the lift countless times over the 16 month build I finished this spring.

On my cnc I made a AXA holder for my rotozip to use on my lathe to grind precise shafts. Works ok.

Made a custom angled collector for a tubular header using a harbor freight portable bandsaw (converted to vertical) and simple angle jig.

The HF bandsaw is the only thing I've ever bought there that I bought the extended warranty on because I knew I was going to beat the CRAP out of it. And of course, its still working just fine even after 3 years and tons of cutting of steel and aluminum.
