I have found out that I have an SK guy local that is actually a family friend haha. He became a dealer like 2 years ago, he is bringing his truck TO MY HOUSE and I'm going to spend a few hundred haha. Thanks for all of the help guys!

Also, are Ratcheting Combo Wrenches worth it? I liked them in tech, but not sure if they're worth the price?

yes ratcheting combo wrenches are defiantly worth it, especially while working on an f-body where most of the time space is limited. Since i started using ratcheting combos i rarely use my old school ones anymore unless they are on the back side of something im running an impact on. Once again just my .02

Has anyone heard of Armstrong? Its made in the USA and seems to be somewhat affordable.

Also, I'm looking into Proto Tools as well. They seem like really good quality items.
Oddly enough, when I was in the Navy, we bought a lot of less expensive hand tools. We had a lot of Armstrong. I never broke any of it and I am rough on the rigging so to speak. Granted, it wasn't name brand stuff, but it will definitely be ok for personal use on your car.

for cordless ive been using ryobi, ive used craftsmen, milwakee, dewalt, ect and milwakee and ryobi have been my favorite. IMO especially the lithium batteries.

makita is a great buffer, we used to have those and dewalt or craftsman and we all preferred makita.

i really like cobalt stuff havent broken one yet but i do recommend making your ratchet a high quality one like someone said earlier

I think everyone covered the basics.

However I keep a few Harborfreight tools around as disposables. I needed a 17mm thin wrench once and didnt have it. Went over to HF pile of **** and grabbed a 17mm wrench I was willing to sacrifice and took a grinder to it to thin it down until it would fit.

Honestly, I have had great luck with Harbor Freight tools. As long as you check the reviews before you buy anything, it is easy to separate the deals from the junk. Most of their hand tools and air tools have worked perfectly for me.

They are the only tools out there that I know of that INCREASE in value after buying them. You can check ebay or craigslist and see people selling harbor freight tools for 2x what they cost at the store.

Milwaukee is my go-to for electric.

S-K gets my vote, have been using them for the last 16 years. Love the feel of their tools, warranty is top notch, and made in the US. Did you ever meet your family friend ?
