I have 8 foot 2 tube fixtures. I ordered 50 of these. I have 12 overhead fixtures in my shop and 6 each in my front and back sheds that extend off of the shop.

I think when it's all said and done they were around $25 each.

Ok so my order did not get shipped as I originally planned. I re-ordered 10 of the 8 foot 48 watt 6000 lumen cool white versions. They have a 3 pin connector similar to a triangular laptop power cord connector. Scheduled delivery is 24 February. I will do a comparison video of the fluorescent bulbs, Walmart $2 60 watt equivelent and a standard incandescent bulb. Holding my breath.

10 cost $330.

Looking forward to seeing the complete install.

By the way I had to do a double take as I've got almost the exact same shelves I built on the same wall in the same size garage!

I only had one bulb fixture in garage & plywood was already laid down up above. Bought (6) T8 fluorescent light fixtures for $5 each, then gutted them. Bought weather proof 5630 daylight led strips, approximately 16' long each, for $13 shipped on Amazon. 1 roll will do 2 fixtures, with 2 strips on each. Bought (2) Xbox 175watt power supplies, chopped off end & rewired for $12 shipped each on eBay. A little soldering of wires, use of cctv camera connectors (10 sets for $8 shipped on Amazon). Wired in (2) ATC fuse blocks for each side of garage, for $18 each on eBay. Siliconed the led strips down to fixtures after soldering. Used old extension cords from fuse blocks to fixtures. Wired in pull switches for each fixture, for when I don't need them all on. Each fixture only uses 34.5 watts as opposed to Double bulb T8 setup. Any sections that might burn out, can easily be spliced for repair. No need for anymore bulbs. My garage now has the brightness of an operating room. It's easily removable & cost me about $150 total.

Made a huge difference. At least now when I drop something, I can find it. Put in shelves & still throwing crap out, making room for more truck parts.

FYI

Part 2 of the video. Installed half of the ten I ordered for comparison. Looks like one LED strip puts out the same useable, maybe even more bright, than a two tube fixture. Both are 8 foot long.

Lastly, for the cheapskates out there you can build these for about $15 each. Just not as pretty. I zip tied and taped the strips to a 8 foot 1x1 board and ran it off a 12 volt power supply. The strip draws 2.2 amps.

Installed 9 of them and this is the final at night intensity. Could not be any happier. It's dark behind the car and near the doorway because the open/raised door blocks light back there. Each strip draws 60 watts vs 75 watts from the old dual tubs fluorescent fixtures. I hung them by 16 gage wire from the original hook and they weigh less than a point each.

They are really stinking bright.
