AC Vacuum pump - removes moister?

AC Vacuum pump - removes moister? I always thought the AC vacuum pump removes moister from the system. If this is true when should you replace the accumulator drier.....

Vacuum will remove liquid and vapor, but it
will not extract the water held by the drier
dessicant; that's a chemical action and
when it's used up it's used up, vacuum
alone won't reverse it, you need a good
really high temp bake to get back to
anhydrous. Way high.
So rule of thumb is, if you break the seal,
replace the drier, it's fairly cheap relative
to the hassle and what it protects.
