Question Plug reading tool

Anyone make a tool to cut the threads off of a plug to check the fuel ring?
Not interested in using a cutoff wheel. Want something easy/quick/at the track use.

I've seen some guys take a random length piece of 3" square tubing with .125 wall thickness and drill 8 holes in it and tap it for the ability to screw the plugs into. Screw the plugs in, then take a 3./4" hole saw (from the top of the plug (Porcelain side), chuck it up in a wireless drill and start drilling down the plug (again Porcelain). Seems to be a quick way to do do a plug cut for reading.

Anyone else use that method? I usually just chuck it up in the lathe and using a hacksay.

Default E-3 TFD Plug

Hi, I have the same problem.
My task is a new type TFD Sparkplug, a "blind' style required to keep the ceramic in the plug body.

My heat range "read" may be able to be made by a Capacitance Meter.

I would ask for other ideas WITHOUT a "cut"

That's a pretty good idea.
