Default Magnetic base dial indicator on alu block

How are you guys attaching the dial indicators on our aluminum blocks? Fabbed metal brackets?

good question. my block is iron so i did not have that problem. what are you trying to measure?

bolt a hunk of ferris metal to the block;;;;; the magnet holder will stick like majic to the ferris metal ....

If you are trying to measure thrust (crankshaft end-play), attach the magnetic base to the main cap.
