I was a profesional mechanic many years ago. Trust the pros when we tell you there is NO COMPARISION between Snap-N-Half's and Craftsmutt.

If you can get your hands on a set of Span-N-Half's for nada - do this and NEVER look back. Just ask your Grandpapie - he is no dope.

Are you going to be selling the tools on this board? When?
Used snap-on = better then craftsman, at the same price.

Gen3:
We are trying to convince him to do the right thing and keep Gramp's Snap-N-Halfs; don't encourage him by asking him about the sale.

...As far as we are concerned, these tools should not be for sold!

You might ask him if he would sell the Craftsmutt tools, however. Since they are real garabage, the price should be low.

He said earlier that he has craftsman tools that he uses and he want to make money on the snap-on's. Keeping them would be the better idea, but if he wants to sell them. Then ill be more than happy to give him some cash.

Well ill sell the hand wrenches, because I have craftsman and they work just fine. My grandpa told me I could sell them if I wanted. The set retails for 1200 from snap on. Id let the metric set go for 700 because its missing 2 wrenches, a 28 and a 31 mm. Virtually no use on them. I have about 20 rows of sockets, all sizes drives standard/metric deepwell non deepwell. I'm going to go take pics of them all. Then you can tell me what you guys need.

The Flank Drive wrenches have saved my butt on countless occasions....If you don't need all the big ones...just keep up to about 24 or so & sell the big ones is YOU MUST, but I would keep them all...pass them on to your kids. He made his LIVING with these tools & probably has a deep respect for them as I do for mine. If you see some of the stickers & the attitudes techs have about using their tools, you'd understand. They are good tools, sell the craftsmans if you really need the money...hell, you should keep them all. Keep the snap ons at home & use the craftsmans for the car or truck. Once you start using them & compare them you will see the small differences they make. Besides when you retire you may want to start building hot rods & wish you had those tools that you sold on ebay 20 years ago.....Have you mentioned to your pappy that you might be selling his tools off? I bet he'd regret giving them too you. If he wanted them sold, he could have done that & put it towards his retirement. A retired tech giving his tools to someone is a pretty big honor IMHO. A gift of good tools is one that will always be appreciated. I got a simple set of 4 carbide die grinder tips from an old friend about 7 years ago & I still think of the fact that it was a lasting gift that has came in handy on several occasions.

Keep the tools...20 years from now you will thank us if you do.
