Default Another BIG vote for the Harbor Freight Trans Jack

On sale this week again for 49.95.

If you even think about taking out the trans this thing is awesome for the money. There is no way we would have done this with even two of us without it.

Even on jackstands we rolled it under the car, flipped the trans rightside up, cranked it up with a impact(air ratchet will not work), slid it right into the studs and done.

We took the trans out without it, a cheap jack and some blocks of wood, it sucked, this made the entire job simple.

About 10 minutes to line up and bolt the trans up.

Can't beat it for the money.

Man, my buddy dropped the trans on my arm ... I told him to let it down until I say stop, and then stop opening the jack arm. Of course, he didn't close it back up ...

Shoulda had a HF jack!

Yep. I picked one this last time I had the tranny out. The best 49.00 bucks spent. It's a good size and makes a good stand for the tranny while waiting for parts to come in. Just make sure to keep the screw well greased. I as paying $25 a pop to rent one before and it was usually a piece of junk. Just when I would get the inout shaft lined up it would go CLUNK and shift a few inches in any different direction

I replaced my clutch by myself with the HF trans jack. It cradles the T56 nicely.

Glad to hear this. I've been eyeing that thing for awhile, since me and a buddy make a trip to HF almost monthly to see what kind of crap we can find and spend money on.

LOL, I bought that rechargeable air can; works pretty good. I put acetone in it and use it for parts cleaner.

this is music to my ears...T56s and two jacks with two very synchronized jackers, and me guiding was such a pain in the ***...
"lower the back"
"Raise the front"
and then pushing it into the tranny tunnel to line up the holes and get the input shaft in correctly...ohh god i dont even wanna talk about it i am getting angry...lol

Louie

another person that will be buying one of these when the time is right.

I have to say I have used the trans jack 1 time and if its money well spent. It got old sitting the t56 on my legs then lifting it up, aligning it and starting bolts laying on my back in the draveway. when I used it it was a smooth install. Unfortunately I have to use it again b/c I need to rebuild the tranny now thanks to the great sliders from the factory.

They are awesome.

2 of them and I install my entire C5 drivetrain by myself.

That little jack at the front isn't needed, I have it in the pic because I was working on the slave and needed a little support so it wouldn't move around.

I used a single one of those to pull a 4L60/differential from my C5 on a quicklift by myself which is pretty tall - it was straining and a little unstable at that height but it still did it. Surprised I didnt kill myself but it still works

Just ordered one last night, cant wait to use this one. Has to better then two guys benchpressing with one hand and throwing bolts in with the other.

Will I be able to use a drill with a 1/2" adapter to raise n lower? Looks like it, but might be a lil more work than the corded drill will handle.

A drill wont get it up from the lowest position with a heavy auto, takes a little oomph to get it going. I dont think it would be too easy to control with a drill.
