harbor freight
hey guys, my jack i have now is taking a sh*t i think
i've seen a thread or 2 here about how people aren't happy with the craftsman jacks, seems anymore none of them last
i'm wondering if i should just go down to harbor freight and pick up one
on their website they list at least 3 different ones...anybody have any luck with any of them?

Yeah and those threads were by people using small 2 1/4 jack not like a good 3 1/2 ton or a 4 ton. Craftsmans jacks work great for the money but if you abuse them by leaving them up for days at a time they will leak. That is what jack stands are for. I like harbor freight but craftsman has a year full warranty.Sorry Just my 2cents

Harbor Freight has some good aluminum jacks, I havent had any problems with them yet, and I have a friend who has a mechanics shop, and uses them daily, no issues whatsoever.

cool, thanks guys
I WOULD like to get a Craftsman, but i'm poor right now, and with my lack of trust for floor jacks right now, i'll go HF.
Does anybody know if any of them will slide right under the front of our cars...w/o having to drive up on a block of wood or something to get the car higher in the air??

before you go to HF store to buy anything go to their web site and sign up for their e-mail speicals.
http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/common/start.do
They e-mail coupons about 2-3 times a month for 10-20% off a single item or sometimes 5$ off total of 50$ or more or 10$ off 100$ or more
I add up items till I just get over 100$ then use coupon and if I need more I just go back with another coupon

I don't know about others, but I'm just about done with Harbor Freight.
They sell stuff cheap, because it is cheap. It seems that most of the tools I've purchased there have failed, and I end up having to rebuy the tools. The second time around, I end up buying the good tool anyway.
I actually went in the local store here 2 weeks ago and bought... nothing. Everything I looked at just screamed "Chinese Crap" to me. I walked out feeling disgusted.
It's sad that there's not many middle level players any more (that I see, anyway). One one end you have the high end tools (Snap On, Mac, S-K, etc). At the other end, Harbor Freight. Aside from Craftsman (which is going low end IMO), not much left in the middle.
Rant off. If you can swing it, buy American.
