PM me if you're interested, and I'll come up with a price, or possibly post it in the for sale section.
Me, Devilbiss GTI and a finish line for primer. Just got a Devilbiss SRiW spot gun and I absolutly love it. Pretty much zero overspray and it shoots everything.

In trying to figure out how to get started in all this, I came across this item on eBay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DeVIL...34883843QQrdZ1
I have the shop and compressor to use a paint gun. I just don't have a drier/filter set-up.
For occasional use, not daily or even weekly use, is this the type "hobby" kit being described?
What is not included that I will have to pick up in addition?

Mitch, you'll also want a good cleaning kit (with lots of little brushes and whatnot), and consider making the air drop for paint a dedicated line with 3/8" quick connects (instead of the standard 1/4" quick connects) - using new hose and new couplings.
And you can get both of those items (the Finishline 3 master kit and the DeVilbiss air control unit) from http://www.spraygunworld.com for about the same price ($4 more looks like), but shipping will be less.
- and their cleaning kit AST-4544 would do well...
Another thing to consider is safety... depending on the kind of paint you're spraying, you may or may not need a fresh air respirator. If you're using a modern urethane paint with isocyanates (the hardener), then you should use one. I'm building one myself using an SAS Safety full tyvek hood. Regular mask filters are not recommended for use with isocyanate based paints.
I ordered my stuff from Spraygunworld (guns, cleaning kit, safety equipment, gloves, gun stands, tyvek bunny suits, etc).

You guys are forgetting one of the best: Binks M1-G HVLP. $299 at most places and lays down a phenominal coat of paint. Comes standard with a 1.4mm tip which is great for both base and clearcoats.

Listen to me.It's not about the best gun, its about the best gun fot you and your compressor.
The best gun out now is the iwata 400lph for 400 and the devilbliss plus is also topnotch but unless you are spraying several candi colors you don't need them. Ive been painting for years and even though I have some topnotch guns when shooting a solid color or metallics I still reach for my
good ol' devilbliss starter kithttp://www.spraygundepot.com/scripts/depot.exe?pgm=finishstart.bbx
Some guns spray out too much liquid for the painter and in turn they get runs in their paint job.I dilike the GTI because the of several reasons too many to mention. One of the main reasons is that it takes up alot of air and the spray pattern is crappy.
The sata line is good.I just purchased the rp3000.the 2000 is good also
