Default Purge stainless with argon/co2?

Soon I will be tig welding some 304 stainless exhaust manifolds for my truck and was wondering if I can use my argon/co2 tank from my mig to purge the manifold? I have one straight argon tank for the tig which I will be using to weld the manifold, I was just looking for a way to not need to buy or rent another argon tank. I also though about rigging some sort of T for the straight argon if I could not use the argon/co2. Any ideas?

100% argon only for tig welding. Otherwise you get alittle cracking and excessive puddle displacement.

I will be using 100% argon for the tig torch, but is it OK to use argon/co2 for the purge inside the manifold? Better than no purge?

For stainless it will work well as long as it is less than 5% CO2. Actually for production (Robot) welding of 304, Agon/CO2 (98/2) is one of, if not the preferred gas.
