Fabbing touchscreen into dash, Need to move stock head unit back First off I hope this is the right forum for this.
I'm currently fabbing a 7" touchscreen into my dash. My current hurdle is moving the stock head unit back just enough so there is enough room for the radio bezel with my touchscreen molded into it to fit into.
The way it looks there are two vents directly behind the stock head unit and I'm just looking for some ideas.
One thing that would help is being able to take the front piece off the stock head unit and relocate that. (Even just removing the volume *** would help.) I tried taking it off but the ribbon is very short that holds it to the larger unit itself.
My main issue here is making enough room for the touchscreen. I'll need about 1" of room.
