Default welder problem

I bought a millermatic 175 a few months ago, and it's been working great. Basically the only usage on it is a 4 point roll bar and subframe connectors. The problem now is, it's welding like there is no gas...but there is gas. Welds look like **** (really pourus and lots of slag). It also seems like the motor is straining a little (just by the way it sounds). Does this sound like a kinked hose or something internal? Thanks in advance.

Did you set the drive wheels for the correct size?
Is the lead set in the correct position-clearance to the drive wheels. ( where the liner-lead clamps in side the unit).

When you pull the trigger do you see a pressure drop?

I did set the drive wheel for the size wire I'm using, and as far as I can tell, everything is lined up properly. I do see a pressure drop in the gas when I pull the trigger, but I don't think any gas is coming out of the tip. I was testing on some scrap metal and the weld looks the same with the gas on as it does with it off.

I figured out the problem. Turns out the gun hose had pulled out about 1/16" from the housing allowing the gas to blow out before entering the hose. At the same time it put just enough of an odd angle on the hose to cause the feed problem.
