you can get the "wobble" extensions which are really nice from snap-on or the "swivel" sets....

I want the socket/swivel combo, I got smacked in the head the other night when the socket flew off the wobble and I got the knot to show for it on my fore-head. So Im going to be upgrading to some swivel sockets. Those damn SO's are expensive, guess Ill start watching ebay.

Why not buy a new swivel center adapter set from Sears.com? Just picked mine up last week for $50. Cam with several extensions, adapters, and swivel sections. They have a lifetime warranty and are not near as expensive as those Snap On tools. The new swivel attatchement has 2 sets of ridges in them as well as any sockets you attached to it to keep that knot from happening again. The old sets of attatchments/sockets didn't used to have these extra ridges.

Matco Pinless all teh way. They have 4 ears that sit in 4 channels. A hell of a lot Stronger, Full 360 Degree rotation, and with an impact gun it hits on 4 surfaces instead of 2 points with a Pinned socket. A little more than the competitors buy by far the best

cheap... and if you break one on a sunday afternoon, you can run to Sears instead of waiting a week for the Snap-on guy

I've got a couple of those in different sizes. The high dollar sets are night and day when compared.

SEARS. You can find them on ebay cheap. They are not as deep as a regular socket, so they fit into tighter places than a socket and wobble extention.

Matco makes the best swivels out of the truck brands, I use my 17mm probably every day breaking loose caliper bolts and its still going strong (2.5 years I think). I don't like the u-joint style like the c-man ones, those ears will open over time and snap, I've done it and it sucks. I'll pay more for a better design rather than snap one and mess up my hand real good.

Oh yeah I should add I only bought the 2 I needed for work, rather than the entire set. I also bought a 1/2" swivel to use with normal 1/2" sockets in case I needed one I didn't have. It wouldn't be as compact as a real swivel socket, but it works well enough, and beats the hell out of buying an entire set.

Yep, I just picked up a new Craftsman 14 peice set on ebay for under $70. They look pretty good to me, might break under extreme use but Sears is only down the road.

I used to have a cheap set of swivel sockets with out a safety coller. What this collar does is protect the pin from flying out if it is fractured. One of my buddies got his hand REAL torn up when a pin slipped out and rotated several times while he was holding the socket in place. I upgraded my set the snap-on ones the next day. They have a small collar that prevents this from happening. Defentily worth the money in my opinion! By the way, once you have a set, you will use them EVERY day.. they are my one of my most used tools i have ever bought. Just my 1.5 canadian cents!

Snap on IMO....they are expensive but I have yet to see one break. I've only seen one half-way lockup....wouldnt swivel all the way around. Guess i've never used any other kinds actually, but see no problem with snap on's...accept the price!! you get what you pay for i guess.

True, Hovever the Strap on Swivels still use the old pin design. Matco and Some of MAc sockets Are pinless. I havent warrentied a MAtco Pinless since Ive been in buisness for theSwivel Failing. They are hard to beat

matco and mac have the same pinless sockets and they suck(i know this cause my matco guy has been in buisness for almost 45 years, he was telling me how mac and matco used to be one company and that alot of there tools are still made by the same place). and i know mac for sure just went back to the pin style due to all the pinless complaints and failures.

My old Matco guy (I'm out of the business now thank god) said he's never warrantied one because of the swivel component itself failing.
