Default What MIG wire?

I am going to be fabbing a catted y pipe and will be using aluminized steel pipe and magnaflow spun metallic cats (stainless). What mig wire should I use? I was thinking 309L, but will it survive the heat? Also, any tips on welding aluminized steel? I've never done anything with it... TIA

Take a sander, and get the aluminized coating off the steel. Use 309L, and try to keep you heat as low as possible. The goal is to have your finished weld look like reddish blue colors, not charcoal looking.

Yep, works best if you get the aluminizing off the joint…

308, 309 or even ER70S-x will work fine
