Default Tap and die for LS motors

Im building my motor very soon and need to clean out the bolt holes, as there is some rust and some other gunk in there.. What size taps should I get for the LS series blocks?

Thanks guys!

use an old (long) head bolt, grind a groove or two down teh threads and use it.

1. M11x2 taps are very hard to find
2. M11x2 taps are very expensive if you do find one
3. taps actually weaken the block threads, so its recommended to use old head bolts

thread chasers, not taps, taps will cut the thread and the chasers wont. i think they sell in kits.

thats what i went with...your not gonna reuse head bolts so why buy something else if you can just take a grinding wheel and cut some groves in it...

I dont have any old head bolts lol. Im building this motor up from the bare block. Do they sell the bolts individually at dealership? or better, think they will have some old ones laying around in back?

Yeah, that was the same thing that I had to deal with too. I bought my short block without heads. So I didnt have bolts. You can get tehm individually from teh dealership, but I bet if you ask arount here, you'd get someone to give or sell you one as well.
