Wish I had the money for one. It'll make pulling my LS1 and swapping in the long-block I'm replacing the blown motor with so much easier.

Looking at the site, I can afford one, but then I won't be able to afford the long-block! I will hopefully have the long-block next week, and installed soon.

Lionel, unless you've got a pretty extensive sheetmetal shop I think it would be hard to build. I'll try and snap some pics.

Just be patient. I've been wanting one of these for almost 2 years.

Man i'll have to tow my bird there to remove the tranny and install the TH400 in its place.

Damn nice to have a clean floor too. Is that a movers dolly under the tranny jack, damn things come in handy when doing stuff like this

I was waiting for someone to point that out

The tranny jack has a 24" reach, which was 1/2" too short I used it to get the height I needed. I'm going to get some spacers made for the casters so it won't be a problem anymore.

We actually bought the dolly a couple days before because my wife remembered how much trouble we had moving the transmission around, 900lb capacity for $10, not bad! It's gonna come in handy when I change the K-member

If I could get my car off under it's own power and get yours on without a problem you'd be more than welcome to it.

I think we're gonna need more than 3 people to get it up though.

That's definetly an awesome product. I like it a lot. How involved is it to put it together and take it apart?

Still how do you get it to the set postion as show in the pics - by jack or a lever you flip?

Bea, there are 4 bolts on the underside of each ramp that you use to adjust the length. After that it's a matter of getting the "bar" lined up with the ramps so it slides in. Just need to take some basic measurements so the centerline of the ramps and tires line up.

Shingami, as you jack it up you pull a pin on each side. The front pedestals are spring loaded and extend out.

Nice,

I have always wanted a lift but I don't have the garage ceiling height. I hate working under jackstands.

Im torn btw this and a 9 foot lift hehe. pricing isnt that much different if you factor in the full package for the kwik. the kwik seems safer hehe.. call me slow but i think im still a bit lost on how it lifts to that height.. i mean i see the metal bar and i guess the jack goes under there.. hehe.. butt after that im lost

Here's a snapshot of the front support.

This should explain it.

http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Di...ppro-park7.htm

http://www.asedeals.com/garage_lift_d-7.html

are two more options im seriously considering as well.

Those are great pics im surprised your brother can fit under there sitting virtually upright like that. Looks secure and nice.

Guess I am still wondering if itll be enough room for say a rear end swap or whatever.. might be a little more comfortable to be able to stand under it.. I am so torn hehe.

Kwiklift seems like it might be the best deal still.

I bought mine at an estate sale.

The bad:
-If you car does not run (e.g. see my 98 trans am threads) you are pretty much SOL.
-If you need to do anything to the top side of the car you have to stand on a ladder to get to it.
-requires two people to park on it (need a spotter so you don't run off)
-have to use bottle jacks or other jacks to remove wheels

The good ...
-it is stable and safe
-lots of room for a creeper
-can store stuff under your car if needed

If I had the ceiling height a post lift jack would be a lot better.

Yeah.... that glue-lam kind of really limits your ceiling height.
