Look ma! no jacks!

) Finally got to use the center bridge.
I got a couple of PM's from people asking questions about the lift.
I figured I would post up some pics of the center bridge in use.
Since I was changing out the swaybar it made it hard to use the jacks under the axle so I used the bottle jack to support in the interim. The pic was taken post installation, while I was working I had the jacks as high as possible and under the axle in case the bottle jack decided to take a shiz I would still have that as a safety net.

You can see that the bridge is bolted to the rack on this pic. It requires 1/2 dia bolts. I bought the drill bit and some high grade bolts but my drill couldn't accommodate the 1/2 drill  . I'm using some 1/4-20 bolts for now.

The mickey mouse bottle jack is not the same one that Kwiklift sells. This is the one that was given to me when I bought it. The pics on Kwiklift's website show a bigger one. The jacks are the ones that do come with the lift, just some standard 3 ton jacks. I wanted to buy some 6 ton jacks but they won't fit in the bridge. You're gonna have to buy some wood to get more height.
Well the cost of a 4 post lift and modifying the current garage is less than putting in a shed. Fact is, I don't drive the car all that often, so using the underside as storage is a pretty good idea. Hopefully by next spring I'll be ready for a four post lift. This winter I'll work on raising the garage door opener and changing the door so it hugs the 9.5 ft ceiling.

Clearly it uses a jack at some point, but the safety comes with not having your life being in the hands of merely a jack on wheels and some jack stands.
