Default H.F air compressor ?s.

Looking at the 12 CFM, @ 90psi, 60 gal tank, for $400.00, sounds like a decent deal, is it worth it?

Thanks.

I just checked their website for you and they offer a 4HP 29 gallon 14.5cfm @ 90psi unit for $369.99 under part #92504-3vga. That looks like a good unit for the money with a Cast iron belt driven pump.

The 12.5 amp @240 volt motor at no load is equal to about an honest 2.5 horsepower rating under the old standard. It might be close to an honest 4HP at full load when operating at 120psi where it might draw 20 amps.

HF sells identical items at different prices. The suffix (3vga in this case) determines the actual price. I find that the retail stores will honor the catalog or sale price if you have the correct item number.

14.5cfm @ 90psi will power most air tools and the 29 gallon tank is adequate for the home garage.

So how do you know if something has a lower price than listed on the website?

Case in point, this 60 gallon compressor.... 55391-1VGA

Do you just plug in different numbers?

Also, where are you seeing a 60 gallon compressor for only $400? The cheapest I saw was $499, but then again, it's probably because there are cheaper prices.

When I checked their website, the item number you gave above shows a 2-stage 60 gallon 15.9 cfm @90psi compressor for $729.99

If you can get it for $400 somewhere, JUMP ON THAT DEAL WITH BOTH FEET!
