Question please tell me a tool exists for this!!

I've got a 02 WS6 that im gettin ready to put headers on but just before installing the headers I've got a broken rear manifold bolt on the drivers side . From what I can tell the bolts snapped off flush or just below the head no part of the bolt is sticking out past the head . Is there a tool that will fit in there w/o having to take the head off. please tell me there is,l and would it be easier to leave the manifold on and drill through w/ something or take it off to get as much room as possible?

Has anyone else had this problem??? Everything there is stock and nobdys ever attempted to take off the manifolds or anything even close to it.

take the manifold off. tap the bolt sticking out with a hammer. use a pliers/wrench/vise grips to twist it out. the bolt will have no pressure holding it so it should come out pretty easily.

err, i just read nothing is sticking out, use a drill to drill a small hole in the bolt. next use an e-z out. basically it is a piece of metal that is square in shape that is tapered. you tap that in to the hole you drilled, then use either a tap handle or a pliers to turn it out. you might need to use one of those 90 degree drills or use an attachment like this http://www.hometownstores.com/detail...ment&ovtac=CMP

if there is an harbor freight or northern tool near you they should have both of those pretty cheap. you will probably only need it once so just get a cheap one (if you think you will use it again invest in a nice one, you get what you pay for in the long run). if you have any other question let me know and i can give you my phone number to walk you through it.

I broke off a header bolt in Galen's new heads. We used a left handed drill bit to drill a small hole in the bolt, then an "easy out".

I'm glad that I didn't get stabbed that day.

I don't recommend getting a cheap easy out. If you break off the easy out in your bolt you have a new set of problems.

if you have a 90 deg air drill with reverse on it then I would try a left hand drill bit. if not I would try to find one for not to much money. It would be the best way IMHO to get it out. You would need to center punch the bolt and make sure that you do it in the middle of the bolt so you can get it drilled straight.
