Nice setup Scotty, btw I noticed you have one of those craftsman oilless compressors in the photo, for the guy who has this elaborate setup is that compressor enough? It seems as though many on this board on another thread deemed those oilless compressors unworthy. Like I said for that heaven on earth set up you have..is it enough or is that just around to fill up the kids basketballs?

Hey Doc:

That oilless compressor is all I have right now. I'm slowly gearing up for this new shop..... as time and money permits. As you can see, the shop walls and ceiling are bare....no electricity, no lights, no shelving, no benches. There are MANY other things to get to before worrying about a new compressor.

As for oilless compressors: yep they're noisy, but they're also cheap. I've had that one for right at 10 years now with absolutely no reliability problems. I have to wait on it to catch up only when I'm using an air hog of a tool like a die grider. I don't do any paint and bodywork, so it's done the job for me so far. I think I only paid $200 or $300 for it.

The compressor in my pictures (next to the tractor) is almost the same oilless unit he has and I've had it nearly 10 years with nary a problem running all my air tools.

I think mine is a 5hp 20gal unit I got from my old neighbor who used it day and noght for wood working. I got it for $100. Can't beat that price.

Hey, someone with more Camaros than me! Nice collection!

How's this for 'worst garage':

(that's the one I moved out of, the new one is here - the new shop, I believe, is what saved my marriage - my wife gets to park in "her garage" now, while I get the shop ).

I have to share it with our customers.

These are pics of the way the shop used to be.
The dyno is now in-ground and the shop now has a "well used" sort of look.

Decided to take the nickel tour of my place with the camera tonight. I'll clean it up in the morning and over the course of the next week as the stuff that's laying around finds it's way back into the car.

Some parts that I'm using for Phase II!! If you look closely you might find some cool stuff in this pile! Also, my new travel tool box is in the picture. I got tired of scavanging tools out of the large box and just went nuts at Lowes and Sears over the weekend.

The welder, air compressor and some storage. I'm trying to convince my brother that gasoline can be used as shielding gas.

My large tool box, a few vacuum cleaners and some storage.

Some more storage, a small workspace, some more tool boxes (my dad's)

I'm just missing some more space, a lift and a dyno. That will have to go in the next house.

That's funny. My friend kept his 996SPS in his dining room last winter. I'd always joke with him "You know, some people would be happy enough just getting a poster" They sure are a work of art though, it actually didn't look out of place!
