Default Good Mig/Tig welding machines

I am looking at a Miller 240V with a 60% duty cycle (out of a ten minute interval you could weld for six minutes straight) I don't think I would weld for six minutes straight, but it is good to know that things would never overheat. So...is Miller a good welder?

Both Miller and Lincoln make good setups. Click the link/banner on the right for Eastwood Autmotive Tools and you will see some nice setups.

I didn't buy a industrial MIG, but I tried the Lincoln Mig Pak series (runs on household current) and wasn't impressed with the weld quality. I bought a HTP- that mo fo makes me look like I actually know what I'm doing- real steady feed compared to the Lincolns that I've tried.

Miller welders are great, we run 2 miller TIGs0 Syncrowave 250, an old school dialarc HF, and one Lincoln 355 squarewave. The millers need a tenth of the attention and work of the Linclon.

Next TIG on the list is the Miller Dynasty

We also have 4 Miller MIGs none of which are newer than 4 years old. Simple maintenance and care and they last for ever.

I have a Miller 185 MIG and a Lincon 175 TIG. They are both 240V and they work wonders. They are both 5 or 6 years old (but then again they are only used a few times a month....).

Don't overlook Hobart welders, our mig and tig in the fabrication shop at the airport were both Hobart (and a Lincoln migpak 100 for small jobs or travel). I like the Lincoln's as well, I've used several migpak 100's (with gas conversions) and they work great for me (it is definately not operator skill....). Just my thoughts.

I've got the same TIG welder. Works great on titanium!

I've got a Miller 210, great machine! Also welds aluminum well with the optional spool gun and a bottle of argon. I even modified it with for a gas post-flow time-out so I could weld chromoly, and it works great!

I personally like the Lincon better than the Miller.

The Miller rattles, shakes, and reminds me of an old rust bucket (but it gets the job done so I don't complain) I absolutly hated the Miller TIGs but then again I hated the Lincon MIGs so I got the best of each company (or what I thought was best).
