Tool for Pulling Wheel Bearings?
The tools I tried using to get it out are a bearing puller, crowbar, fire
, and a slide hammer. I figure at this point I need something hydraulic
Does anyone know where I can rent something like this? Or has any other suggestions for removing the bearing? Thanks!
one I made by cutting the head off a fine imported
ratchet leaving me a 8" nice piece of steel that's
hard enough
Just keep popping it on alternating sides and the races will come out. For
installation the wheel nut will pull the bearings
to their seat.
At least, this is how I've done fronts. Never had
a call to do rear axle bearings.
Rears are fun sometimes.
I use a 10 lbs slide hammer w/ an OTC (tool company) adapter kit for semi floating axle bearings.
OTC also makes a hub tool if your talking about another car non-LS1 but there 300+!!
