The Dewalt is 10amp 11,000 RPM to the Milwakee's 8.5amp 10,000 RPM. I like milwakee better, but is it the better grinder?!?

Thanks,
Sean

I've purchased about a dozen of the Dewalt's in the last 4 years or so. We abuse them doing weld prep and polishing stainless steel. They hold up very well. Brushes need replacing periodically but it's not expensive or difficult. The only thing that kills them is if they are run hard for a full shift a few days in a row the gearcase heats up and the gears fail. You can buy a new gearcase for about half the cost of a new grinder.
That being said I've started buying Metabo grinders about a year ago and they seem to outlast the Dewalts 2 or 3 to one. Their warranty is better too. They are about 25% more expensive though.
I have no recent experience with the Milwaukee other than heads up with the Dewalt a few years ago. As a result we decided to go with the Dewalt.

You cant go wrong with a DeWalt... I have used Metabo stuff at work and thought its cheap feeling the chucks suck and the batterys are too big a bulky...

I agree, DeWalt makes great tools. I own a lot of them and wouldn't hesitate to recomend them to anyone.
I can't comment on the Metabo cordless drills other than I thought they look cheap too. I've never used them.
But I can tell you from experience the 4 1/2" angle grinders go the Metabo is outperforming the DeWalt. For home shop use you will probably never wear out the DeWalt and it will always perform flawlessly. I use a DeWalt at home too. For most people the Metabo may not be worth the extra cost.
