it would work but it may not function 100% correctly considering you are feeding the car 9 volts as opposed to 12+v. i think it would work for a short time but not for long, especially if you have an aftermarket alarm, which would stay on while the car is off. my suggestion.....wire a bunch of C or D batteries plus to minus until the voltage comes to 12 or higher. 1.5 volts a piece so that would make 8 for an even 12V.

depends on how long you want to have the battery disconnected. we use those at work when ever we chanegd batterys or starters and they have always worked for us. if the 9 volt is good then it should last quite awhile. with the ignition off there is very little drain on the vehicles electrical system
