Its nice to see there is experienced welders here and have similar interest in the same hobby as me.. At least I know where to go now. Not many forums offer that!

Right on man. Probably not in this section then. No worries.

Had to make some front motor mounts for my dragster. Tube is 3/4 .058 and plate is 1/8". The other pic is the boss that goes over a 3/8 stud.

Wouldn't consider mig welding squirt gun welding. Quite a bit more controlled than that.

Dare I say the caulk gun of welding ??

The only reason people do mild steel over moly ... Let's face it! It's cost.
I am not a DIY er. Am a do it all guy. Can't afford an acdc tig rig at the moment. But I can afford to put a good American made mig rig "Hobart 187". You can build a hella safe fairly light car with a Jd squared bender and that rig.
I lied too I can't sew for sh#t. An old friend of mine mother is a retired seamstress. She does my seats and door panel stitching. I would love to be able to pay a race car shop 6k to moly and tig me up. Own all door cars just rather put my money elsewhere. Not running a six second car.
