Default What can I use to cut a shifter stick?

Alright, I have a UMI SS and after trying and comparing the WS6store one I prefer the bend a little bit but I like the shorter length, my shifter feels ultra stiff.

I'm only gonna cut the threads, maybe half an inch, none of that cut and weld crap. Don't know any machine shops and don't think its worth it to pay someone to cut that little off of it, should I even do this or not... too difficult to cut so little metal?

FYI I have access to shop tools at my college. We do have a very good auto program so we got all sorts of crap over there.

Nothing special in the way of tools for this... But...some tips. Put a nut on first, so that after you cut the threads, you can back the nut off and chase the threads.

I used a regular old hack saw on my Pro 5.0 stick. Cut like butter. When you cut, make sure you angle the cut to match the thread pitch too. Piece of cake.

Get a nut and thread it on the threads and then hack away.
When done take off the nut and it will clean up the threads
