i know for shure aircraft inverted flair fittings are diffrent angles... as far as getting the braded hose into the coller the best method i have found is electrical tape and a little bit of trans fluid in the coller, slides right in ... also a little tranny fluid on the rubber inner tube works wonders when you are thredding them together....... if your still having some troubles with finding adapters call the techs at areoquipt... alot of the time the catalog descriptions dont explain exactly what the part is the techs will be able to tell you exactly what part number you need.... thats what i always do ... electrical tape also does wonders if you wrap it around the annodized nut so you scratch the poo out of them when assembling (even with the specal annodized tool

Can someone tell me if there is a fitting that will go from a plain/flared end of tubing to AN ftg? For example, tapping into the trans cooler lines to run braided hoses to an aftermarket cooler.

Thanks

What is the best way to cut the braided line. I just made my first ones yesterday and it was a pain. As said the 8 wasn't bad but I had all kinds of trouble with the 6. I taped it and cut in the middle but it still wanted to bunch up and fray.

Is there a tool that makes putting fittings on a steel braided hose easier? 8AN goes on pretty easy but the 6an stuff is kickin my ****. Cant get the screw caps on over the steel braid to even begin. Someone had to have invented something.
Yes, in the aircraft industry there are a few different tools for this reason. One has a series of different sizes pipes (they look like they've been cut in half, allowing two halves to come apart for a hose that already has AN fitting on the opposite end) for each AN fitting for braided hoses. The various sizes tubings are about 1/2 foot long and the diameter is matched to the OD of the braided hoses for the correct AN fittings.
The tool is almost like a vise stand with an cutter.
You put the tubing in it's place on the stand, put the braided hose into it til it reaches the opposite side if you want to cut the braided tubing (slight friction between the tube and the braided tube inside so it requries a light coat of thin oil) then you pull the lever to operate the cutter to make a clean cut.
Then you lock the cutter away, put the stand up and put the AN fitting in it's place and place the AN fitting holder right next to the braided hose and the tube. The braided hose is inside the tubes halves where there should be a very small gap only enough to see if the braided hose went into the fitting, then you push the braided hose into the AN fitting which is inside the AN fitting holder. Then you unlock the AN fitting holder and screw the rest on by hand or with the AN fitting tools provided. Then you remove the tube halves and screw the rest on plus put the internal attachment as per the AN fitting your using.
Don't ask me how much for this tools, it's at least a few grand.
