Default Dumdumdumdumdum

It's kinda worn out..at first it was funny, but having just a general convo about a SRT 4 or whatever else makes that dumdumdumdum come up is really getting old..

I was just reading a post in a thread where someone was talking about someone that was killed in an accident. He said the type if Car, and it came up as dumdumdumdumdum.

I'm sure there is a few others that will agree this is kinda wore out..

Personally, I think that is one of the (for lack of a better word) gayest rules on this site. It's annoying as hell and doesn't really serve any purpose other than to shield the eyes of the powers that be from reading words they don't approve of.

Most of us here are just people enjoying a good conversation discussing anything about any Car. Yea, we may root for what we own and drive, but a true Car enthusiest IMO would have a non-biased conersation about anything, and keep themselves relatively educated on what's out there.

Having the idea of other types of Cars as non-approved words is a pretty biased opinion, and shows lack of maturity.

F ormy is the ONLY word that I would still want the dumdumdumdum on. All others are pretty stupid.

Well is there any reason for the dumdumdumdum? I'd like to know what this whole deal is about.

I remember all of the "dumdumdum" filters were used because some of the damn words were wayy over used. A couple years back I remember a thread about types of wheels and F T W was used about 1000 times so the mods cracked down haha.

the ones i can remember are
f o r m y
m a r o
F T W
s r t 4

and im sure there are more.

{F T W} {S R T 4} {S R T - 4} {t e r m y} {f o r m y}

Copied straight from the AdminCP options panel, with spaces added to pass the filters.

I know what they are I'm just not to sure about why they're filtered. The dumdumdum {F T W} makes sense, but why single out dumdumdumdum {S R T 4} dumdumdumdumdum {S R T - 4}?

And what the hell does dumdumdumdumdum {t e r m y} and dumdumdumdumdum {f o r m y} mean?

A couple/few years ago we had some issues with Neon owners ("Hi") coming on the board and posting a bunch of garbage. So their posts were changes significantly by the filters. Not quite a 'board war', but it was a minor annoyance.

Terminator ('03-ish Cobras) and Formulas.

I remember those filters several months ago and saw how some folks had a skittle in their sig and even that was filtered to dumdum etc. I agree Merv they are dated (at least to me).

I was surprised camaro is off the list though.

Yea, I think the FT W, TERM Y, and FORM Y should stay filtered because of the gayness. But why keep SRT 4 filtered if there were a couple of punks causing a slight issue several years ago? Seems odd to me.

S R T 4 used to be filtered to NEONNEONNEONNEON cause they would all claim it wasn't a neon
