I've split the site into halves, running on TWO servers right now.. The database is running one one server, while the web server is on another. I did this to isolate the major functions and determine where our bottleneck is. For reasons I'm still digging into, the processor on the WEB side is simply getting overloaded, while on the DB side it idles. Hang in there folks, I'm working through this (and trying to handle general support at the same time) as fast as I can ...

Ok, made some more changes tonight... Put everything back on one server (the bandwidth bill would have KILLED me!!) and put on a BIG nitrous kit... is it working, or has the bottle run dry?

It is screaming along right now. Maybe because most people are in bed, but yeah, excellent change. I just needed to wait to see the full benefits.

Are we gonna be able to search through older threads again? I can't get anything before the site changed over during a search. BTW, great work on the site, it is much faster then before and I love all the new features.

If you use the search feture at the TOP of the board, not the quick search, you should be able to see them. I just verified it by doing a search oh "Camshafts" in the inernal section, and got over 10 pages of replies.

The quick search only goes back so far (can't remember what the configured time span is) but the advanced search will go back to the beginning of time. I still need to run a re-index on the search table though, I'll do that soon...

I've been using the Search button up top between Home and FAQ. I just tried Camshafts in Internal and only get 4 threads. Is there something I might have in my options that is wrong? According to the search parameters, I'm searching through all the threads from any time period.

Once the reindex is complete, you'll get the results you expected.. Doing the reindex is a pretty server intensive process though, and since performance already sucked I didn't want to make things worse.. It appears I've solved the performance problems (knock on wood) so I'll run it in the next day or so.. Once that's done, you'll get the results you expect...
