Site Performance Slow
I got the dreaded "Site too busy try again later" message I'm used to getting somewhere else..
The site seems a little slow..
Just figured it's worth noting..

We know it is slow. This is only the first day, and performance will vary throughout the day, maybe the entire weekend. Would you guys prefer "website not found" and we shut the site down all weekend, or just deal with the temporary slowness?
The server and software is being tweaked, this will cause slowdowns unfortunately. Its better than no site at all though

Admin is changing things as we speak to speed up the site.
One big thing will be archiving all threads over 6 months old. The posts will still be in the same forum so from a user standpoint it will look no different. We are doing that right now.

I think the amount of work accomplished over this short period of time is amazing and the site looks awesome. Sure it is slow.. but the site has to start somewhere. Just think.. in a few days this site will be better than ever! However, the poor guy hasn't slept in days so I think it is time for a long nap. I think he has so much fun with this site he forgets about the important things like eating, sleeping, etc.. Shhhhhh whatever you do.. don't call his cell tonight unless it is an emergency. I would greatly appreciate him getting some rest. Thank you.

First thing I think that needs done is the Administrators need their colored profile names back. I hate reading a thread and having to check to see if I am reading an administrators post, I like being able to do that w/o reading the name

It handles approx. 150 users pretty well.. once it gets past that, performance takes a nose-dive. I'm working on tweaking the settings, and I've already made progress (got the database server processing 2000q/min vs. 1600q/min yesterday). If we have to, we'll throw more hardware to it, but that isn't the REAL solution. That's our last resort at this point. Keep the faith folks

It's been faster on the weekend, but it always is that way, due to reduced site traffic. Monday will be the real test.
I'm confident that this site will be flying in no time though! So be patient folks, it's worth the teething pains.
