Default Problems with a moderator

Is this a typical procedure for your staff around here:

I am asking that the actions of your moderator be reviewed and this be removed from my account.

Do you recall the instance they are referring to Y2K or are you just at a loss for what they are talking about?

Either way mod, I do not feel that the "Payback is a bitch..." comment is appropriate no matter who the member is your addressing. Especially coming from a mod.

I am a moderator on LS1dotcom and I received this PM from ramairgod this morning:

He has been informed of our rules there multiple times and continues to disregard our rules there and has now resorted to making threats and paybacks towards me. I have a hunch the administrators of Tech don't want their staff members conducting themselves this way, especially towards members of this particular site that have been around for many years and never once been in trouble here.

Seems to be a LOT of that crap going around on a LOT of different forums. Moderators need to learn the difference between abuse of freedom of speech and abuse of power over it. Threats are never cool. But neither is banning people who want to discuss even politics directly relating to topic at hand or heated discussions. The rules seem to be arbitrary on these forums at best. And they either don't seem to apply to the whole or "godlike banning power" applied at a moderators whim.
Good thing the forum world is an inconsequential microsm. Or there would there would probably be a LOT of dead people. lol I.E. if you going to get all suicidal about being banned or threatened over the internet, you should probably take a vacation from the forum world and get out more. And if you're so insecure that you have to threaten people you will probably never even personally meet, you should seriously seek help.
..also crosshairs stand out REALLY well on white things. There would probably be a LOT of polar bears who -left to thier devices- would have chosen another color to be.

So what you're saying is you received an infraction on this site, for what you did on another site?

If so, that's hilarious, among other things.

You are 180 degrees wrong.

I banned him on ls1dotcom for his rule breaking.

He has also been banned or had his thread deleted/locked from these forums for the same reason I banned him on ls1dotcom:

http://www.viperalley.com/forum/sear...earchid=850891

http://www.myls1.com/showthread.php?p=48226

http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?t=676085
http://www.ls1lt1.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24757

After he told me he wasn't going to follow the rules, he proceeded to put his thread up again and got banned by me a second time.

Today he made a threat towards me and issued me an infraction on here with the message "paybacks are a bitch".

If thats not immaturity and abusing moderator powers then I need to hang up my 5 year tenure as a moderator in the lsx community and move onward.

Nice info, but how the **** am I "180 degrees wrong" when I am asking you what happened?

Plus, the info you put up, and your statement, supports what I was asking "did you get this infraction because of what you did to him on the other site?" (in simpler terms).

I wouldnt jump to conclusions there bud, this matter is definately being dealt with. Needless to say I would put my money on one less mod being on the staff for that one.

Man, I misread your first reply, I am truly sorry. I just didn't catch what you were saying the first time, but yes, you were more or less correct. Just hit me upside the head, call me a retard and get it over with

Haha, no problem, you made me re-read it 4 times and I kept saying "am I missing something?"

Rogue retaliation and abuse of power should not be tolerated, so I feel for ya.

This one of the moments that being an admin here is very joyless. After this was discussed among the staff , he has been removed as a mod and the infraction has been reversed. I personally apologize for this and it is not how our staff does things.
