Quoting pictures
Quoting pictures Not sure if this has been brought up before, but could it be changed to where if you were to quote a post with a picture or video in it, that the entire picture won't get displayed again? For example, if somebody were to quote a post with a picture, just have the [IMG]link to picture[/IMG] display instead of the entire picture. It would clean things up a bit. I can't stand it when somebody quotes a post with 5+ pictures like 3 posts beneth the original post.

There are a few that do this and it helps keep things less cluttered I think. And its fine if somebody is quoting just one picture to ask a question or point something out. The thing that gets annoying is when an original post with 10 pictures gets quoted by somebody and they simply puts 'nice pics' or something of that nature. Then you have to scroll down twice as far, takes up more bandwidth, ect. Maybe it's just me.

Why would you suggest the right to quote pictures be taken away?? Why dont you just politely ask them not to quote pictures. Would take less time then it took to make this dumb thread.

Because that doesn't work.
^ It would be too easy to bypass the 'permission', such as grabbing the pic url yourself and wrapping it in [img] tags.

Excellent suggestion. I've always thought that the [img] tags be changed to [url] tags any time the quote function is used. That would then just provide a link to the pic, and keep things cleaner.
