Now that you're back in the LS scene Todd, are you ready to put your super mod duties back to work? If not, please offer up some suggestions as to worthwhile candidates.

Didn't sound like complaining to me, more like constructive criticism and/or a valid suggestion. Oh, you're one of those who gets offended by that...

I'd say for my advertising dollars, it would be nice to see and know that moderators were relatively active on the forum and particularly in their designated section(s)! For a regular member, nobody would care if they go MIA for weeks, months, etc.

Good idea, Todd!

As a former super mod here, in years past, we were expected to check the forums at least daily. If you were out of pocket, you let others know so they could check yours. It just leaves a bad taste in sponsor and member's mouths when things are not tidy.

Patrick, sign me up! I have plenty of time most days to visit several forums. I preferred being a super mod so I could police any section. I'd love to help out.

I liked it when Steve was a mod myself. Seemed to clean up a lot of the hoop-la and Tom-foolery... At least in the GenIII Internal & External sections.

Strong Mods yield good threads.

Spot on Reckless... I have went to send PMs to moderators about a problem (SPAM/out of hand threads/etc) and wondered if they were still a mod because they hadn't been active in so long.

Personally, I feel the parts/vehicle classifieds needs a tad more attention.. There is a lot of harassment/selling of bulk items by non sponsors/etc that often gets over looked.

I wasn't aware that there was another moderator in the racers lounge besides Gaunt. I see Damian post however I just didn't know that was one of his sections. Never even heard of Brad8266, which makes sense now.

We are discussing this as I speak , we like for fellow mods to make suggestions and take votes on it. The admins can't be everywhere at once and we have lives , too outside of this website . When I get emails about problem posts or non sponsor , spam, etc , I do get on it quickly . I am on here several times a day. My pet peeve is non sponsor pimping . Our sponsors pay good money to advertise here and they are what keeps this 500 lb. gorilla rolling . The hosting costs and server fees are astronomical . I take offense when somebody thinks they are gonna make a fast buck backdooring sales .... And when YOU buy from said individual , you're taking a chance that you might get scammed . We do this stuff gratis , no paychecks for us . If we seem unfriendly towards non sponsors , now you know why . And spammers are just plain annoying!

If the "LIKE" button motion had been passed, I would have put it into action. HA

Seems like some things are about to change to bring the site up one more notch, thanks guys.

The best thing you can do (and this goes for anyone on this site) is to use the "report post" button to alert us to an issue. I don't have the time to read through each and every new post of all the threads on here, but if someone reports a post in one of my sections, I get an instant email with a link so I can find it quickly and address the issue. I do my best to respond to those as soon as I can...otherwise, it might slip through the cracks.

Even as a non-mod, I would use the "Report Post" if something was improper in the classifieds. In particular people selling new engines and such that are not sponsors. Not particularly fond of sponsors cluttering things with parts either, unless they are used.

This is a pretty big site, with lots of new posts and new threads daily. There is no way that the site staff will ever be able to read every single new post made every single day, so there will always be things that will get missed from time to time. The "report post" button is a great option when you see something that is clearly out of line.

Having said that, on occasion I've seen some memebers report posts that didn't really require any attention, so some level of descretion is required when reporting a post. Action may or may not be taken on a reported post, as determined by the moderators of that section.
