Default picture battles header

Is there a way to turn off "picture battles" header at the top of forum ? Takes up near 1/4 to 1/3 of the screen sometimes

What browser are you using and are you filtering scripts? If filtering scripts, then that's why you won't see the widget.

I'm noticing some epic hangups on page loads. Lagging really bad ever since this new 1999 junk was added.

Also, received this today:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

That feature was cool for about 5 minutes, then people figured out they can choose their own pictures, and they do over and over.

Yeah, I'm convinced ever since this mess was put in, the site has become virtually unusable. It takes 10 minutes just to scroll the page.
Any way we can disable this junk??

This. I have been gone from the site for a while and had been wondering what the little camera icon was. Well I really think this feature could be cool...er. I like that its a good way to waste time looking at pics I would never normally see. But being a "game" format, there will always be the people who feel good about themselves because they have an military stripe/symbol next to their name.

If it isn't possible to keep people from voting on their own pics, just do away with rankings and just keep personal win/loss record...I wouldn't even say let people see other pics win/loss. Because that's where "those people" get a hard on.

...even though if they voted 200+ times on their own ****, I think the time would be better served if they'd just get off the computer and play with said hard on.

The picture battles has destroyed this forum for me. Takes up half the page, causes browser crashes, and is full of ****. I have no problem with **** in general, but I don't want to see it on a technical car forum. Can't visit this site from work, can't show it to kids, and many of my conservative/religious friends quit posting here. Some of my other favorite car forums, including CorvetteForum, MBWorld, and HDForums have also been ruined by picture battles.

This picture battles malware is the single worst innovation in the history of internet discussion forums and will lead to the demise of every auto forum it infects. I've owned many LSX powered vehicles since 1998, so it is especially sad to see institutions like CF and LS1Tech being run into the ground.

I am still hoping for a hide/roll-up option for this feature at some point. All we can do is continue to ask for such, as this is not in the hands of the site staff either. I kept the previous picture gallery hiden as well, since I don't need nor wish to be assulted with pictures when I visit the site.

Some people might like this feature. But for those of us that don't want the hassles of loading that stuff, it would be great to have the ability to turn it off.

I don't care to see pictures at all in a banner up top. The hide feature needs to be better then the marketplace search hide, which doesn't work all that great.

Also, what trips me out is whoever designs/implements new crap, the new gimmick of the month, is so closed minded that he doesn't stop and think that maybe some people won't like it, and won't want it. Maybe it might actually drive some people away. Not having a way to hide the above mentioned feature is doing the entire site an injustice. And, implementing a feature with no way to deselect it for the few who don't want anything to do with it is just plain dumb and makes the new item a nuisance.

okay at first this was a neat way to see lots of members pics, but now i don't want to see it either...

i'm not against cute girls with their goodies hanging out and stuff, but it's just recently got out of control, imho. why are people doing it? to be #1 in some useless contest? it's not like those scantily clad floozies are even posing on an LS1 equipped car or a member of this site, rather it seems some pics were taken from a damn porno site. i know where to go if i wanna see that, and the URL is not www.LS1Tech.com
