Default Scammer in classifieds....

This guy messaged me about my for sale ad in the classifieds. It kind of threw me because he sent me this PM basicly just asking for my email and phone#

So i checked on him and he has no posts and his join date is today.

what do you all think?

is there something scammers can do by just getting my email and phone #?
i keep getting craigslist emails basicly just asking for the same thing and none of the people seem to even have any specific questions about the car.

but say if I e mail him, is there anything he can do by just having my email and phone #? Im not dumb enough to sell the car for anything other than cash, but I just dont want my email to get hacked or anything like that.

I don't believe it's a scam.

If you google search that email address it comes back to this website.

You also have to keep in mind, there is still a huge chunk of the population who aren't forum geeks. This guy may have been linked your car by a friend or something.

Its a scam. I had someone do the exact thing to me. Thay will keep asking for the same thing over and over no matter how you respond. Ask him different questions and see how he responds...

Give him a your spam account e-mail and see if there is a real person behind the PM

E-mail and cell can lead to spam mail and calls. Also, if your fairly loose online and with your social networking privacy settings you can get your address from your cell number, which could lead to a stolen car.

Maybe he never saw one that he liked, which never warranted him to create an account.

I've done the same thing on other forums, I search them regularly for an item I'm looking for and never have the need to make an account until something I need pops up.

You just never know now-a-days.
