I want to attach a video i got the url and it says its invalid when I upload it.

You need to use something like YouTube and simply hot-link it by pasting the URL of the YouTube video inside the posts.

The Attachment system does not allow uploading videos unless "tricked" and even then you then can't embed them like a YouTube video.

Following are valid extensions that are allowed to be uploaded through the Attachment system:
bmp doc efi gif hpl hpt jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd tun txt zip
