page scrolling !!!
Recently here on tech, the Vette forum and another Internet Brands forum I've had a problem.
Namely that when scrolling down a thread....get half way or so and the page starts scrolling continuously.
As if the mouse scroller was stuck down or something.
It doesnt do it when I'm near the top of a page, it doesnt do it on any other forums or web pages, it didnt used to do it. It just started at random a week or two ago.
It still does it even if the mouse is turned off or unplugged. And it's really ******* annoying !!!!
Any thoughts ?

facebook groups, that is where everyone is at right now. forums are dead. it doesn't help also that ib is continuously adding more different ad inserts everywhere to get click revenue and in turn slows down loading the site and it also creates the problem you are having. we get the same scroll bs too.
It isnt the ads loading etc...it is literally as if the scroll button on the mouse was down or something.
If you're near the top of the page it doesnt do it so much, but the further down you manually scroll, it then starts to go nuts and starts getting faster without you doing anything.
If you try to scroll up...it fights you and keeps going back down to the bottom.

I think I tried logging out the other day, and the scrolling stopped. Not really practical for posting though
Log back in and it does it again

This isn't something that I've personally seen, but as a few more users have now reported it I've asked the IB team if they have any idea what the issue might be.
In the mean time, since not everyone is seeing this issue, if those of you having this problem could post some further details (such as browser and device data) I'm sure it would help the IB folks investigate.

Likewise I'm on Chrome. Havent tried logging in on IE...IE's slow as **** so I try and avoid it.
Short threads arent as bad, as I type this one isnt scrolling, but longer threads when you're further down it seems to get progressively worse.

For reference, I'm not seeing this issue with Firefox on my desktop (I don't use mobile).
I also have an old, slow machine so I limit page length to 20 replies. That was the original site default, but there are options in the user CP to change this (ranging from 5 to 100). Since this seems to be tied to thread length, I'm assuming that those of you seeing the issue have your thread display options set to much longer thread lengths? I wonder if reducing that would help your issues? Just trying to gather more info for the tech team.

Mine is just set to forum default.
This thread tends to be very bad for me...whether pictures in the thread make it worse or not I dont know

Although the scrolling seems quite slow today, sometimes it is really fast

I have found out it only scrolls when I use Chrome . I just Log Out to read. Kind of a bitch to see all the advertisements but oh well. IE did not scroll as well but I hate IE.

Decided to try another browser...so downloaded Opera.
It even seems to have pulled across bookmarks and passwords from Chrome, which as handy.
And so far here, no scrolling. I guess that's a positive !
