I think we should have a forum just for stickys and how to guides. only admins could post in it. Things like !EGR, !AIR, bleeding brakes, installing LS6 intake etc.

you mean ala ls2.com?

and you mean only admins and mods could post in it . seeing as how im one of the sticky kings it sounds like a good idea but the better question is would it get any use? i've been around long enough to know the majority dont read stickies that are staring them right in the face with titles like "please read before posting". if they cant read a simple sticky what makes you think they'll read a whole forum divoted to them?

never been over to LS2 to know how they are setup, this site takes care of all my LS1 needs. I know many don't read stickies, ive been one of them. Just an idea, I just know there are alot of things I wish were stickies, but if they were all stickies, then the first page in a forum would be full of stickies. Search can do anything, but sometimes i have to look through pages of results for what I am actually looking for.

Stickies get kind of annoying, and most people tend to ignore them after a while. We are very hardcore about maintaining the info posted on this site, and keep our search feature working well. To date, we have not lost any of our old threads since this site has started.

Some other sites have poor money management and tend to purge thousands of useful tech threads so that their server doesn't fill up, so they won't have to spend more to upgrade. We just upgrade servers when we max one out.

And believe me -- it can be tough keeping a site with over 2 million posts active, and keep search working well
