Default New section idea: **** B-Body Owners In Here!!! ****

I think this was discussed before, about the same time I joined tech, but I figured I would throw it out there again.

Can we get a B-body specific forum? I know that LT1 powered cars are kinda looked down upon around here, and I know the site isn't exactly desperate for new members. But there are several members in here already that have B-bodies, and there is a large following that could be tapped into, since there are only a very few decent B-body forums on the web.

I mean come on, we've got a special forum for FWD's!

*EDIT: B-body owners and enthusiasts, please post up to let the site owners know that your here!*

It's not the engine that I'm really concerned with, we do indeed already have a good LT1 section. Its more that there are alot of challenges to making a two ton car fast. Things like brakes, suspension, transmission, ect... are a completely different ball game compared to a F-body or vette.

B-bodys also have a certain special style to them, I mean who wouldnt love a car that looks like this...

me... lol. but yea, i think having a B-Body section would be a good idea, just as there is a special edition section, and FWD section.

I think those cars are hideous, but thats just me.......plus there are too many around here on gold spokes that sound like they have a **** ton of soda cans in the trunk driving on rail tracks. But I digress......

Its LS1Tech. The reason you get FWD forums is because they are forms of the LSx motor family. The LT1, well, is not.

I'm sure there are B-body forums out there for ya, somewhere.

Oddly enough... no.

The only good one was Impalassforum.com and their site seems to have been down for quite a while.

And I know the b-bodys never came with an LSx engine, but then again theres alot of info discussed on this site that has to do with LT1's and even older GM vehicles (*gasp* and even some fords!).

Since I've joined tech I've become used to the quality and quantity of the information shared on this site, most auto sites suck in comparison. I was simply wondering if we could bring that same quality to a B-body forum.

I'm not opposed to the idea. Maybe we can get a count of Impala/Caprice owners that actually frequent the site first? We wouldn't want to create a forum for 10 guys to chat in

i could agree with this....^^^....why not just widen the "lt1-lt4" forum?....therefore not creating a new one but at the same time allowing room for more info....

Hmm... maybe I should have put "B-body" or something in the title of the thread so people actually know what its about. Let me see if I can edit that (if not can a mod do it?).

I dont have any problem widening the LT1 section at all. Maybe it could be set up like the "Sports" forum on SSU, where you only see one link on the main screen but once you click on it it gives you a bunch of sub-groups (maybe along with the B-body one there could be an LT1 f-body/vette one... I know those guys would love their own section). But I digress...

See, it would make more sense to me if we just created a B-body section in the vehicle specific section because;

1. Not all B-bodys have LT1s.
2. It just makes more sense from an organizational point of view.

(I'll be more than happy if anything at all gets set up, this is just my $.02)

Ok, so how should I go about finding LS1tech's active B-body members (obviously not everyone reads all the threads in this section)? Should I just spam-up the SSU garage, or is there a better way to do it?

There are a few b-body guys in the LT1 section that I'm sure would love it.
