Default Chat Room

Why does LS1tech.com not have a chatroom like Camaroz28.com or 350Z-tech.com?

I think it would be an awesome idea too if we could get one. It would help with getting immediate answers for stuff.

chattings like IMs between a lot of people as opposed to posting a topic and waiting for a response. Pretty much the same thing except quicker and prob less organized.

Chat rooms defeat the purpose of having an online forum IMO. There might
be good tech information exchanged, but it will be shared with a few people
only then it will be gone. As it is today, all information is housed in a database.

I think of it just the opposite way...

In a chat room, it won't be as much tech - it'll be more off topic.

It won't be stored... and that's probably a good thing.

A chat room wouldn't belong on this site, but it would belong on SeatStaysUp.

Anyone remember when the site was down for a few hours and there was a chatroom setup? Hole. E. ****. You couldn't read but every 30th line, if that.

Personally, not to argue with the Admin of this website, but I think a chatroom would be fun. It would be a great place to get to know anyone, and get instant answers on problems, instead of having to wait a day or so for a response.

Chat rooms are a cluster f*ck. I would wager that any question you
have has been discussed at least 10 tims and can be found via search.
Try that through a chat room.

chatroom = lost valuable tech information. Most of anything related to LSX technical stuff has already been discussed here and is archived. Chatrooms are more about goofing off and hanging out, they historically have never stayed technical focused. We've had them before, they didn't work out.

If it is talked about in a chat room then no one else can benefit from the outcome of what is discussed later on down the road if they have a similar problem. Then you get more people asking the same question over and over again b/c there is nothing for them to search on about it. But a chat room would be fun just for people to BS as long as they didn't use that as there source for getting info instead of the search. But only if there were different chats for different subjects, then there wouldn't be 5000 people talking at the same time and you would actually be able to read what people were saying.

Yeah I see Nine ***** reasoning on it. I was just thinking of it more as like a help chat with like maybe one section per section on LS1 tech where people could go to ask those random little questions that people either feel to dumb to post or appear 100x a week. (ex: What cam should I get?)

And then there would most likely be a BS chat too
