Thumbnails? How can you attach an image that is hosted elsewhere as a thumbnail?
Most sites use [thumb][/thumb]. Do this site have a simular code to where you don't need to upload via manage attachments?

Nope, you have to link 'em as-is. You'd need a thumbnail already hosted. Dynamically rescaling the thumbnail with a thumb tag would require a decent amount of server horsepower on a popular thread with as many page views as we typically see, so we don't offer that functionality.
